The last week in June, Leonie and I were in Arizona visiting her mom and sister out there. Gus had tons of fun with his cousins (though I'm not quite so sure that they had as much fun since he's about as big as his 27 month old cousin) and both Leonie and I got a nice inactivity vacation with family. Plus we didn't have to worry about packing stuff like the car seat and pack and play, always a nice bonus.
I also got to hang out about with Tanju since he was able to get away from work for a bit. He also told a most amusing story from his job. The company that's building the power plant he's working on in SoCal just received an award for 1,000,000 man hours worked without a lost time incident. The only catch is that they bid the project for 600,000 hours. Whoops.
For the bathroom, I managed to get all the rest of the walls up. Now I've just got to drop the ceiling in the laundry area about 3.5" (the width of a 2x4 for those of you sharp enough to catch that) to cope with the way the vent stack for the plumbing had to be run. After that, it's electrical and sheetrock time, baby! Er, I take that back. There is the small detail of getting a hole punched in the brick wall for the bath exhaust, but that should get done this next week (I'm actually hiring someone to do that).
With luck, we should have a functional extra bathroom at the end of the month, plus a week or so.
