A co-worker sent this one to me: It's not a conversation, it's keno!
The family starts showing up today. Leonie's dad is due to be here any minute now. Still no Gusling, though.
Gus just sent this to me. It's a nice reminder of the "War President" we have:

Usually, I've refrained from making political comments. If you want to know my opinion, I figure you'll ask me. But, this just makes me mad. As a concerned citizen, we have the RIGHT to know what a war costs. And we need to be reminded of the cost of sending these very brave young men and women into harm's way. Over 600 dead. Over 3500 wounded. And the Bush administration doesn't want you to think about it. Just another example of the dangerous level of secrecy that this administration has imposed from day 1.
And as the Bush adminsistration shuts down pictures of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice returning home, Bush has yet to attend a single service for anyone killed in Iraq.
Well, Leonie's horribly uncomfortable and still no sign that the kid wants to be born quite yet. With any luck, it'll be soon, though--the due date's on Sunday.
So, I'm quite proud of myself. I found out the Vonage, which I recently replaced my buisness line with, has a nifty web app that you can use to place a call. So, in the true spirit of hackery, I made a little bookmarklet that lets me dial my vonage phone by selecting text and clicking on the bookmarklet.
Drag Vonage Dialer to your toolbar. Right click on it to edit it and change myphone='13145551212' ; myusername='foo' ; mypass='bar' ; mylocalarea = '314' ; to your settings. Of course, it only works if you have a Vonage VoIP phone.
In other news, I still haven't finished off the baby's room, but basically all that's left is putting up the trim. Leonie told me to hold off on renting a compresser and finish nailer (I recognize that I'm a crappy finish carpenter) since she might go into labor and we'd be stuck with a few days of rental charges for a tool we never used. So, I guess the Gusling will learn to sleep with the noise of power tools early on in life.
