Mmm.. Barbecue

Gus invited Leonie and I over to a barbecue at his place this evening. Much fun was had by all, including the dogs who keep trying to get at any and all food near their level. I helped gus move in about a year ago, and this was the first time he's had a BBQ at his place. It's about time, darnit! Likewise, he reminded it was about time I updated my blog, since I never do. I suppose that either my life isn't as exciting as everyone else's, I just don't really care to share that much or I'm just too tired of looking at a computer at the end of the day.

Photos of the euro vacation have finally been organized. I still need to weed out the more uninteresting ones. Scanning the slides I took (there's some real gems) may have to wait for another time.

In the last month, my job has been heavy on the travel. The places I've been to: Sioux Falls, SD, Mountain View, CA, Vicksburg, MS, Columbus, OH, Cincinatti, OH, Marysville, OH, Denver, CO and Minneapolis, MN. Joy! I now have almost enough miles to get Leonie another free ticket to Europe. Now, if only I could find time to go.

The upshot is that I get the second half of my sabbatical starting on Monday. Three weeks of no work will be nice. We'll be driving to Denver to see my mom, then Arizona to see Leonie's family and helping her dad move on the way back. I fixed it so I'd have a week at home before I have to (ugh!) travel again my first day back after vacation.

OK, so now I pledge to do more in the daily entry department, even if it's something like, "worked another 12 hour day, this sucks."
