Crappy subfloor piece removed. You can see the old attic boards that they put the plywood over. To do it right, they should have ripped out everything and installed 3/4" tongue and groove plywood. Now the foor has squeaks that are impossible to get rid of without ripping out *everything* in the attic. Viewed: 661 times.

My patch for the crappy subfloor bit. Notice the polyurethane adhesive in a tube that I'll apply to the back so there's a good bond between it and the old attic boards. A good bond means fewer sqeaks. Viewed: 548 times.

Setting the saw blade depth to 1/2" to excise the subfloor around the hole. Raise the blade guard, turn the saw on, lower gently on four sides and remove the damaged piece. Viewed: 489 times.
